CASCADE SPORTS CAR CLUB DRIVING
SCHOOL/ HPDE REQUIREMENTS


1) REQUIRED SAFETY GEAR/CLOTHING
a. Minimum helmet requirement: Snell M (for Novice School group only) or Snell SA 95 or newer.
**NOTE** - A Snell SA rated helmet is strongly recommended.
A closed face helmet is required when a convertible (open cockpit) car is used.
Helmets are also available for rent ($10).

b. CONVERTIBLES: All convertible and/or open cockpit cars must be approved prior to the event. They must have an approved roll bar which extends higher than the top of the drivers/instructors helmets.
**Note** - Approval of a roll bar is not a certification of a roll bars safety or its ability to withstand the stresses of a roll over accident.

Convertibles with Pop-Up rollbars will no longer be allowed.

c. Both driver and passenger seat belts must function properly, be in good condition, and be of a minimum three point design (shoulder and lap belt).

d. ALL cars shall have a passenger seat securely installed for an instructor.

e. Clothing: Long pants and Long sleeved shirts are recommended.
Open toed shoes and shorts will not be allowed.


2) TECH INSPECTION:
All cars will be required to go through a minor Technical inspection. It is the entrant’s responsibility to make sure that their car is in good mechanical condition. Tires should be in good condition with plenty of tread; the wheels properly tightened; and plenty of brake pad. All loose items shall be removed. Helmet shall also be presented with the tech sheet, for inspection. Tech Inspection will begin at 7:00a.m.


WHAT TO DO AT THE TRACK

1) Check in: If you attended the classroom session you are still required to check in at the track. Have your driver’s license ready to show at registration.
**Note** - Everyone who entered the “Driving School” course is required to attend the classroom session, unless given exemption. Everyone who entered the “HPDE” course is not required to attend the classroom session; but can if you would like. (Please bring your old manual.) At registration you will receive a schedule, your run group assignment, and a number to help us identify you. Attach your number to the upper driver’s side corner of the front windshield and line your car up in the appropriate run group for Tech inspection.

2) MANDATORY DRIVER’S MEETING: Everyone is required to attend the Driver’s Meeting – See schedule for start time (usually around 7:45 A.M.).

3) The event will be held rain or shine.

4) Cancellation policy: All cancellations less than five days prior to the event may be charged a $50.00 cancellation fee.
