CSCC on

Newsflash

Bylaws: Proposed changes Here.

As required by the current CSCC Bylaws, this publication contains recommended changes to the Bylaws from the Bylaws Committee. Please review recommended changes carefully.

If you have additional suggestions and/or recommendations, please be present them at the August General Meeting at Stark's Pizza on August 6, 2016.

Do not email your suggestions, as ANY changes need to be voted on by the members present at a General Meeting.

The currently recommended changes to the bylaws will be contained in the July edition of the Auspuff (pages 6-18) as well as online at the link below.

 Open house at PIR

Save the Date! Mark your calendar for Sunday, June 26, 2016. Portland International Raceway will be holding an Open House where attendees will be able to drive their own car on the track and/or go for a ride in race cars. There will also be demo laps, car displays and information about PIR’s rich history. Admission will be free and getting on the track will be donation based.

We are saddened by the news that Norm Creitz has passed. Norm was one of the founders of the 4 Cylinder Sports Car Club of Oregon, established in 1953. The name was later changed to Cascade Sports Car Club. He was involved in the club for many years and will be missed by all who knew him.

2015 Driver Training & HPDE Events

CASCADE SPORTS CAR CLUB PRESENTS:

The 2015 “Driving School” and “HPDE” (High Performance Driving Event) Courses
Bring your street or race-prepared car to our ICSCC approved Driving School or our HPDE. Safety is our primary concern and a good helmet is required. Cars will be inspected before being allowed on the track. Open cockpit cars (convertibles) must have an approved roll bar and seat belts. Convertibles with "pop-up" roll bars are not allowed. All entrants must be 18 years of age or older and have a valid driver’s license.
Have your driver’s license ready to show at registration.
Please read “SAFETY REQUIREMENTS” for further information regarding the Schools and HPDE’s.

CONVERTIBLES: Convertibles are defined as cars with retractable tops, whether soft-top or folding hardtop. Convertibles are not allowed to participate in Schools or HPDE events without a rollbar and a 5 or 6 point harness for each occupant. The use of a rollbar must meet the minimum requirements: The top of the rollbar shall be a minimum of two (2) inches above the top of the driver's (and passenger's) helmet. A plane drawn from the top (not including padding) of the rollbar to structural parts of the chassis in front of the base of the windshield shall pass over the driver's (and passenger's) helmet.
**Note** - Approval of a roll bar is not a certification of a roll bar's safety or its ability to withstand the stresses of a roll over accident.

Convertibles with Pop-Up rollbars are no longer allowed.

For more information on convertible roll bars standard go to Convertible Roll Bar Standards
